Postpartum exercise

Postpartum exercise helps gently strengthen the body after childbirth and rebuild muscle. It promotes healing, alleviates discomfort, and supports mothers in feeling comfortable and strong in their bodies again.

Right after childbirth, it takes time and patience, along with a healthy diet and physical activity, to get back into shape. Gentle exercises are perfect for gradually getting your body accustomed to regular physical effort again. The pelvic floor, which is heavily stressed during pregnancy and birth, requires targeted exercises for strengthening. The abdomen, back, and hips also benefit from specific strengthening exercises that improve posture and prevent back pain.

Even if you can't wait to get your pre-pregnancy body back, it's important to approach training slowly. If you have any questions about the exercises, talk to your midwife or physiotherapist. In addition to postpartum exercises, you should also incorporate some form of cardiovascular training, such as brisk walking. Inline skating is also great for fitness and the pelvic floor.
