Pre-natal classes - osteopathy - hypnosis

Osteopathy and pregnancy

Craniosacral osteopathy is especially useful in preparing for the birth during the prenatal period. One searches the cranium sacrum and the vertebral column for movement restrictions of the bones, which can be felt in the micrometer range. In addition, the practitioner senses the rhythm of the cranial impulse in mother and child. This is the rhythm that the brain and spinal fluid produces, being constantly renewed. There is a special focus placed on the maternal pelvis; good mobility is essential for the successful outcome of the upcoming birth. Osteopathic work is recommended from the sixth month to the birth.

During pregnancy, women often experience back pain, limited mobility and increased water retention in the legs. Often the cause is quite small, but there is a huge impact. The gentle techniques of osteopathy can correct a twisted pelvis, put the buttocks back in gear or fix displaced pelvic-floor musculature quickly and without much stress.

Weight increase, the additional load on the spine and the opening of the pelvis to allow the fetus to enter become noticeable. Here, too, pain relief is achieved in most cases through the use of gentle corrective measures

Osteopathy can thus be used during pregnancy to increase the general well-being of the expectant mother, to facilitate the delivery for mother and child, and to help process any previous, dramatic pregnancies and births.

During delivery, the ligaments of the maternal pelvis are stretched a great deal. Normally, everything is restored to normal by itself, but this process of self-regulation may be disturbed after a difficult birth (forceps, suction cup, breach position, twins). The birth can also displace the pubic bones or sacrum. This may lead to symptoms such as headaches, hormonal disorders, fatigue, impotence and depression, and even to vomiting, sleep disorders, migraine, back pain, vein problems, bladder issues and hemorrhoids. After a caesarean section, the cranial pulse in the pelvic area often stops its motion. In fact, the effects of this procedure often appear after a period of time.

After childbirth, osteopathy is used to harmonize post-natal complications or premature births; it can also treat sleeping problems, nursing difficulties, head asymmetries and head skew as well as long, seemingly groundless bouts of crying.
