Therapies for chronic and acute back pain

The treatment of chronic and acute back pain aims to relieve pain, improve mobility and strengthen the muscles in order to prevent long-term complaints and restore quality of life.

Complaints

  • lower back pain (lumbalgia, lumbago, low back pain)
  • pain radiating to the legs and feet
  • spinal disorders and herniated discs
  • lumbar syndrome and lumbar root irritation syndrome
  • radicular and pseudo-radicular back pain
  • compression syndrome
  • lumbar disc syndrome
  • sciatica syndrome, ischialgia, lumboischialgia
  • facet syndrome (vertebral joint pain)
  • cervicobrachial syndrome (pain in the neck, arm and shoulder)
  • projected pain in the arm and leg
  • acute and post-acute slipped discs
  • paraesthesia in hands and feet (tingling, numbness)

Back pain must be treated early on, and adequately, in order to avoid the problem becoming chronic. In the case of chronic back pain, common pain relievers often no longer give effective relief because a pain memory has developed; that is, the back pain has become entrenched in the psyche of the affected person on its own. Treatment of back pain becomes much more difficult if this is the case.
Our clinic sees a very high percentage of patients with intervertebral disc protrusions and herniated disks. We can help 90% of these patients through an optimized program of osteopathy, physiotherapy, electrotherapy, infrared therapy and laser therapy. A special exercise program can permanently relieve patients of the painful effects of nerve root compression.
